"The session was very well organised"

About: Bromley Healthcare / Diabetes service

(as the patient),

An information and training session for adults who had been diagnosed with pre-diabetes. Detailed information was provided about the diagnosis and what it meant as well as training on how to make lifestyle changes with food choices and increased exercise.

The information included leaflets and booklets as well as presentations on how to make the changes applicable to each person. The session was very well organised and clearly presented and was an invaluable way for people to learn how to make changes at a 'preventable' stage. Everyone there left with a detailed plan on how to make changes using the pedometer daily and information on how to set goals.

My only concern was that I felt that there was an imbalance between the two main areas of discussion: too much emphasis on physical activity and goal setting and very little in comparison on information on diet changes and on food packaging - I think we only had (over a total of 3 and a half hour session) about 20 minutes to discuss this topic.
