"Maternity experience"

16 months ago, I gave birth to my beautiful daughter at Whiston hospital. What a wonderful service! I was lucky enough to have the very talented and winner of the johnsons midwife of the year award Joanne Price. I made use of much of the maternity services available from the foetal monitoring service to the ward. I experienced a few episodes of no movement and the midwives, nurses and doctors were always very welcoming and never made me feel silly. I went in to be induced 2 weeks after my due date, I arrived at 4pm to be admitted to the ward, the midwife on duty welcomed me and told me her name, shortly after she put me on a monitor. She later examined me and suggested that my waters might break on their own and that I should go for a walk. My waters didn't break and I spent the night on the ward.

I got up several times in the night for various reasons, a lady on the ward was snoring loudly and keeping me awake, the midwife and nurse moved me and all my things to a more quite side room. I felt so welcome on the ward the midwife and nurse that looked after me were wonderful. The next morning I was taken to labour and delivery to have my waters broke. This was where we met our midwife. She was amazing and thoughtful. The care I recieved on labour and delivery was second to none, once back on the ward I was out straight in to a side room. The care on this side wasn't as good but was ok. The after care once I left the hospital wasn't great.

My community midwife also wasn't all that great, she didn't make me feel comfortable and I would not have had my baby at home due to her, she was a supervisor of midwives but she wasn't great.
