"Some staff still addressing patients by a first name without permission"

About: Park Hospital

(as the patient),

Despite the intervention of the Chief Exec some time ago some staff are still addressing patients by a first name. This applied to two male staff nurses and may have been accustomed to using a first name or they thought that by doing so it was 'more friendly'. They had not looked at the nurse notes which includes 'name by which the patient wishes to be addressed.

All the other staff addressed me as I had requested at the pre-op clinic; so an improvement but not a total success.

Obviously for medications round, theatres etc full identification is formally required and in that scenario is perfectly acceptable.

I felt like a child.
