"Very disappointed"

About: Manor Hospital

I was seen in your gynaecology clinic today and I've got to say, I left the building feeling extremely frustrated. When ''asking'' about my medical history, it felt like they weren't really listening, and instead of asking about my symptoms, it was more clarifying/barking/rushing through what was said in the GP correspondence, I felt like they were very unapproachable as I had a few questions I wanted to ask but I didn't ask as a consequence. I also felt like they rushed through my appointment, they even answered a personal phone call during my allotted appointment which I felt was inappropriate. Luckily there was no reason for medical concern after my physical examination, but I felt they were not properly explaining what was happening and why they were doing it, they wrote me a prescription for a contraception pill without even explaining about the medication, my opinion on taking it or more importantly, the side effects. I am a young woman and this was my first gynaecology appointment as I was referred by my GP after some concerning symptoms, this was obviously a very anxious time for me and I felt I wasn't being looked after properly. I walked away from the clinic feeling very frustrated, tearful and embarrassed and I hope other women do not experience this again.
