"Total disappointment"

About: Sunderland Royal Hospital

I attended hospital on the 25 Feb 2015 to undergo a long awaited surgery for the removal of an adrenal gland tumor. My appointed time was 8.00am on arrival I was informed that the appointment was now for 10.00am and that I should have been informed of this by telephone the previous night. So I waited the two hours until my newly appointed time only to be told that the Doctor wanted a word with me. On them entering the room they apologized and told me my surgery was cancelled. This they said was because they had found out at 8.00am on that day that my blood sugar level taken over a week previously was 8.5 and without even a recheck of my blood sugar told me they weren't prepared to risk surgery. Where upon I explained that the reason for the surgery was because my blood pressure was out of control and is still dangerously high that I am at great risk of suffering a heart attack or stroke they replied they wouldn't take the risk of surgery but would refer me to the diabetic clinic and set a new surgery date and also inform my GP. To date none of this has happened and I still face the real danger of a heart or stroke. So unsurprisingly I have a great need to undergo surgery but no trust nor faith in it being carried out, without further delays or what I consider in the circumstances to be invalid excuses.
