"My Mothers Accute Appendicitis"

My mother had acute appendicitis, and her appendix was removed just before it burst. She had the operation in October and was released the day after her operation. I believe my mother was in no fit state to be released. She was given two different antibiotics to take along with two different painkillers. My mother had a kidney infection, a small infection in her wound and was in a great deal of pain. She is 64 years old, and already suffers huge pain everyday with arthritis.

I feel the lack of after care for my mother and her discharge from hospital so soon after her operation not acceptable. My Mother had to be driven from Telford to Birmingham to stay with my sister, as she has no one to care for her in Telford. The drive alone was very painful for her.

I feel the way my mum was just sent home from hospital like that was appalling. I hope she doesn’t get an infection or dreadfully ill after this operation. Mum wants to tell her story here too, so you people can read about how she was made to feel.
