"Caring staff at Tameside General Hospital MAU "

About: Tameside General Hospital / General medicine

(as a relative),

My wife's Grandmother was taken into Tameside General Hospital's Medical Assessment Unit in September 2009. She was 91 years old and very poorly with pneumonia. My wife and family were very distressed but the staff on the MAU were very understanding and, even though they were very busy, always had time for us and nothing was too much trouble.

Sadly our Nan passed away on the 24th of September. Again the staff were there to support us.

I would like to thank, in particular, Nurse Pauline Dolan who was absolutely fantastic. She treated our Nan with compassion and dignity and she helped us get through an extremely sad time. She is a credit to her profession.

Thank you

Dear PeteF

Thank you for taking the time and trouble to post these comments. Please pass my condolences to your wife and family for your sad loss.

I was pleased to note that, in spite of the outcome, you were pleased with the care and treatment you received on the MAU. I will ensure the staff are made aware of the comments you have made, in particular Pauline Dolan. I am sure they will appreciate greatly what you have said here.

Many thanks again
