"My stay in the hospital"

About: Royal Blackburn Hospital / Respiratory medicine

(as the patient),

I have just spent six days on ward C6 with pneumonia, when I was admitted I was so ill I nearly died. It was only the care of the doctors and nurses that I am alive today. I would say this ward and the care I received from the nurses was the best you could get any were in the world.

every nurse on ward C6 would go out of there way to make sure you were getting the right care and attention. from getting you a jug of fresh water to helping you to the toilet. all the nurses always had a smile on there face. the food I received was always hot and was 4star food.

I was discharged after six days, but 2 days later I was re admitted with the same illness. I asked to be put on ward C6 if there was any beds empty and I am glad to say there was one bed empty so here I was once more being very well looked after by the best nurses you could be looked after and all the nurses still with there big smiles on there faces. the doctors, nurses, cleaning staff.

Dear Taddy Many thanks for your feedback on your experience of our ward C6 at Royal Blackburn Hospital, and thank-you for taking the time to do so. I will make sure your appreciation is passed onto the team who will be delighted to hear that your recent experience with us was really positive as we always strive to deliver safe, personal & effective care. The fact that you asked to be returned to the same ward on readmission speaks volumes about your experience and the care you received. If you would like to talk through your visit to us with one of our Patient Experience team so we can understand the bits of your experience that made this such a good visit for you we would really value this so that we can try to make it like this for every patient visiting our hospitals and services. You can either contact me (Wendy Stobbs) on 01254 733716 or email me on wendy.stobbs@elht.nhs.uk. Or if you would like to share your experience in confidence with an independent organisation please contact Healthwatch BwD on 01254 504985 or info@healthwatchblackburnwithdarwen.co.uk Many thanks again for commenting and best wishes on your continued recovery Wendy Stobbs, Senior Patient Experience Facilitator
