"Appointment reschedule"

About: The Royal Victoria Infirmary / Pain Management

(as the patient),

I have received an appointment change due to a clinic cancellation. My original appointment was for mid March and it has now been rescheduled to December 2015.

I feel that 9 months is an unacceptable time to wait. I have tried to contact the pain clinic by telephone which is only available 10-12 and 2-4 while I am at work. I tried a number of times but have not been able to get through

Thank you for taking the time to leave your feedback with regards to your recent experience with the Pain Management Department. We would like to offer our sincere apologies for this matter, unfortunately there are occasions when it is necessary for the Trust to cancel clinics due to conflicting clinical commitments which we appreciate causes significant inconvenience to patients.

We fully appreciate that being given an alternative appointment 6 months later is unsatisfactory and have therefore made arrangements for an earlier appointment to be arranged and details have been forwarded to you. If this is not convenient please don’t hesitate to contact one of the Directorate Management Team on 0191 2825540 / 244 8544, and they will be happy to help with your enquiry.

Once again we would like to offer our sincerest apologies.
