"The staff were supportive, empathetic and amenable to my needs"

About: Leeds and York Partnership NHS Foundation Trust / Crisis resolution

(as the patient),

I was struggling for a number of weeks and had a fair bit of contact with CAS ( crisis assessment service ) at my home and on the phone in particular Laurence. The way in which I was dealt with by everyone I spoke to was friendly, listened and didn't judge what I was going through. Laurence when he visited and spoke to me on the phone on 3 separate occasions listened and empathised and also passed comments around how far I had come and how I only contacted them when I was struggling. He agreed that I needed further Intervention and put me into ICS at Aire Court.

All the staff from the consultant to the cleaners were really supportive and empathic and amenable to my needs at the time. The situation that put me in there is difficult and emotional but all the staff, even those not on my team and actively working with me approached me with compassion and empathy with loads of support. I was admitted for 2 weeks and I can honestly say without them or CAS I hate to think what would have happened. I want to really say thank you to Lucy and Michaela for there time and constant support at a very difficult time even though the whole team did a fantastic job, even when they were run off their feet.

It is really encouraging when someone takes the trouble to post a message like you have. Thank you very much. It was so great to read that you found the help that you needed and that inspite of some of the dificulties you have faced you are starting to feel as though you are on the road to recovery.

The Staff that you have named are delighted to learn that they have helped to make such a difference, and also want to thank you for saying so.

As you can imagine the CAS is a very challenging place to work and by the nature of that it is not always easy to feel appreciated.

Thank you again for your kindness and we wish you every success with each step on your journey towards recovery.

With very best wishes.
