About: North Middlesex Hospital

We had to call out an ambulance for one on my relatives on Friday morning. The paramedic arrived within 3 minutes and was brilliant, explained everything and decided an ambulance was needed, which arrived a few minutes later. We went to NMUH A&E and the whole experience was good. The staff were efficient, we didn't have to repeat info millions of times, they just got on with doing the tests and despite the consultant's initial hope that we may be able to go home, the test revealed the need for a hospital stay whilst more tests are carried out. We had to wait in the cubicle whilst a bed was found and eventually arrived at the acute assessment unit at about 7.30 in the evening. The doctor from the unit (AAU) came to see us before we got there and checked details and was happy to explain everything we needed to know in detail. All staff gave me time to translate info to the patient who can speak English but was less comfortable to do so in the circumstance.

So glad you were happy with the treatment your relative received. I am the A&E service manager, christopherdinsdale@nhs.net and will be sharing your comments with the teams.
