"Can Get information about my wife"

Phoned hospital at 2130 Friday night explained problem and told to bring my wife to A&E straight away. Arrived 2250. Seen by doctor at 0500 Saturday. I came home about 0800. It's now 1500 Saturday. I don't know whether she is still in A&E, on a ward, discharged, dead or alive. Switchboard give me a number for A&E and tell me only they can tell me what has happened to her. I've rung this number every few minutes for an hour and a half, and it's either engaged or unanswered. My only option is an hours drive to the hospital after a sleepless night. Whether I get an answer then - who knows.
