I have just got home after my hernia surgery. I had 2 linguinal groin hernias and an umbilical hernia that were done by keyhole surgery and the umbilical as a small incision. At 39yrs old, this was my first ever visit to a hospital. I was understandably terrified! Upon checking in at reception, I was met by the porter with 3 minutes. Sorry I don't remember his name but what a courteous, wonderful man. He showed me to my room, bed 6 on York ward. A full guide of the room and devises was explained to me. As for the nursing staff on York ward....faultless. They were all fantastic! The anethiatis was great at putting me at ease and my consultant gave full and clear explanations of the procedure. The waiting time was minimum and up to going to sleep in theatre, the staff remained calming and massively put me at ease. Cannot thank all of you enough. Upon returning to my room, again. Faultless service from the nurses and I even had my food order within an hour. The food was first class. I was continually asked if I wanted anything else. The Alexandra was spotlessly clean. There is not a single thing I can complain about. If ever I need a procedure again then I will 100% be using this hospital. Thank you to each and everyone of you who made my stay so comfortable and if I can say this....Enjoyable!
