"A&E"

About: South Tyneside District Hospital

Attended A&E to find an auxiliary nurse sitting at reception who told me I had to wait for the receptionist to come back before I could register to be seen after an approx 4 minute wait the receptionist returned, once in the dept we did not wait long until we were called in by a nurse, she was very polite, professional, she done a few obs and told us she would arrange some bloods, on waiting for the bloods we were called in by a Dr, I have to say her manner was very off putting, she was asking questions and when we didn't answer quick enough she was raising her eyebrows at us and made a few comments about our visit not being an emergency, I explained we had been advised to attend and we didn't know what the problem was and as the GP and walk in centre was closed we had no other option. Still didn't get the blood test ! I would be very reluctant to return to this A&E dept if I knew I had to be seen by this certain Dr unless her manner in which she speaks to her patients improves.
