Last Wednesday, I attended the Breast Clinic where I was seen by a breast consultant, after undergoing various tests as well as a biopsy I returned today to receive my results. Needless to say that the last week has been one of the longest weeks of my life. Arriving at the breast clinic today I was told that there was no doctor available ,due to an emergency and the receptionist could not let us know whether a doctor will see us. Finally, I was called and a breast care nurse explained that there was no doctor available and that together with the hospital manager she would see me.
This has upset me. I wonder, what in Gods name is going on at North Middlesex, that a hospital of such size could not find a breast doctor to see the patients. Every person there was there for a reason, everyone was anxious and worried. How can North Mid say they care? I am concerned about a hospital where the management can't employ sufficient doctors to cover every patients' needs.
