"Disappointed lately with Arrowe Park"

About: Arrowe Park Hospital

I have been a long term Wirral Resident and used to be very proud of Arrowe Park Hospital. Until lately it would have been the one I would choose above any others. However, both myself and my husband are not satisfied lately. Me because I have a complex condition which required time and investigation, which I found in another hospital. My husband who was repeatedly admitted with an acute situation and then kept in hospital and no treatment arranged. The surgeon who saw him first wanted to keep him in to operate, but then was discharged by a weekend staff. Then months and months have gone by, readmissions, infections. No appointment for surgery. It is something of the NHS as a whole, whereby the first focus is now on beds and cost. We got told they are short staffed, lack of beds etc. Kept getting told 'why are you here' to my husband 'you are taking up a bed' even though eventually they find he is too serious to go home, and it turned out he had infections and so they didn't want to send him home. Plus it's not his idea to stay over. When he did get sent home it was midnight, no worry about how to get home, etc (neither of us drive) so hospital is always taxi or bus. It makes me nervous to go there again, I have chronic conditions and need surgeries soon.
