"An unlucky years"

About: Royal United Hospital

My husband and I both enjoyed perfect health until Summer 2012. First I had a fractured hip then my husband had a minor stroke, I was then diagnosed as a ceoliac followed by having meningitis. All this while we were approaching our eighties. Apart from my operation at the circle, we were treated at the RUH. At all times we were treated with care, compassion and expertise. I know there are many criticisms of the. NHS but we cannot praise the hospital enough. Added to which our after care has been wonderful We feel almost residents, we visit so often. If I had one complaint it is one of staff communication . A lack nurse said she would not look after me. It too a few seconds for me to realise she meant I was not her patient. The food was difficult for me because of the gluten free but I had my family to bring fruit for me. I have long felt that those who can afford should pay a standard amount for food. After all we go into hospital to be tended to not fed !
