"Foot operation"

About: Dewsbury & District Hospital

I had a foot op in January, It had to be done at the Boothroyd Centre as all the wards were full. The poor nurses were run ragged, but were wonderful, nothing was too much trouble for them, always asking if we wanted or needed anything. offering tea and toast and sympathy. I cannot praise them enough, as all the ops done that day were extra to their day care cases, they allowed us to stay in our beds until we felt ready to go home, at the same time looking after the day cases cases going out and coming in. They gave me meds to take home and a number to ring if any problems arose, They do not get enough recognition Or wages, Well done lasses.
