"Abuse and 'personality disorder'"

(as the patient),

I am disgusted at being diagnosed with a "personality disorder" through the eyes of a doctor from the psychiatry department, based on prejudicial, unfounded views that have destroyed my life. It is a heinous crime that a woman who has been the subject of 16years of physical, emotional and sexual abuse and who has been raped has been labelled by a stranger with no reference whatsoever to post traumatic stress disorder that should have been a subjective diagnosis based on truth and not heresay evidence. My fight is not over as, with the help of good Christian people, the truth will out.

It is well documented that a diagnosis of 'personality disorder' is controversial to say the least. So why is this cruel, damaging label not being challenged more often? Rathter than being applied to victims of domestic abuse in favour of assistacne to recover from the effects of such abuse?

Because we are nto being represented in a compassionate way by the individuals that should protect us!

Survivor of domestic abuse.
