I have a 20 year history of serious operations under the city hospital nottm, I move to Kirkby and am forced to go to k/mill hospital as my surgeon at city has retired. 10 months after my 1st appointment I still havnt seen the named person on the letter ( 4 appointments ) The reason my injuries are so bad is because of an underling at City hospital who didn't know what he was doing! If I had been seen by the named specialist on the letters then I wouldn't be in this situation, this whole situation looks like history repeating itself to me! I have also had to explain my situation every time as none of the doctors or staff seem capable of getting my records sent over from the city hospital. So I have lost 4 days out of my life, gained lots of stress and am now in a situation where I desperately need an operation but cant even get an appointment with a specialist despite several referals and nobody at the hospital is capable of getting my records up on the screen! All of this is having a massive effect on my quality of life and no one at Kings Mill gives a damn. Todays example, wait 1 hour 10mins in orthopaedics then called through and wait another 30mins in a cubicle, then a nurse comes in and tells me I wont be seen by the " named " specialist on my letter but I will be seen by 1 of the other doctors who are filling in. I have already spoken to that doctor and he passed the buck onto the next who passed it onto another, when I pointed out that I have already spoken to that doctor and my appointment was with someone else above him I was met with a load of garbage from a nurse who knows lying wont appease the situation but still chooses that course of action which obviously fell flat on its face! This Department is an absolute shambles from top to bottom. The nurses certainly don't help the situation either.
"orthopaedic department is a shambles!"
