"Tameside maternity care was sencond to none"

About: Tameside General Hospital / Maternity care

(as the patient),

I was admitted onto ward 27 when I was 31 weeks pregnant and I stayed there till I was 38 weeks when my little girl was born.

I cannot thank all the doctors, midwives and axillary staff enough for all their help, support and advice during my stay.

I started bleeding and had quite severe pain down the right hand side of my body. I was discharged after 6 days but re admitted 2 days later. Dr Mulik was fantastic and so were her junior doctors. Dr Mahmood was also excellent dealing with my care when Dr Mulik wasn't available. All the auxillary staff made sure I had my meals and were always asking to change my bed. Cleanliness was not an issue. The rooms and toilets were spotless.

The Labour Ward was exactly the same and the care I received there was also second to none. I cannot fault this hospital at all.

Dear Vickie,

Thank you for your kind comments about the high standards of maternity care you received at Tameside Hospital. Whilst I was concerned to read of the problems you experienced, I am very pleased that you were so happy with the clinical care you received, and the quality of the environment. I will bring your comments to the consultants and other staff you mention in your posting.

With best wishes
