i was admmited by ambulance with copd and phumonia the care i recieved in a&e was very good as it was xmas and very busy that night , i was taken in the morning up to a ward , very tired not feeling well at all , i sat in a chair for a while waiting for someone to make my bed , when they did and gave me one thin pillow i asked for another as with copd i can not sleep flat , they said they would bring me one later , around 10 oclock that night i asked a nurse again and was told quite bluntly i could not have any my reply was im sorry for asking nicely , so i folded my thin pillow on to my table and with two drips in an oxygen mask i slept with my head on the table , at five in the morning the young sister came over and as soon as she asked me if i was alright i started crying as i said not one person came over and asked why i was so unwell and sleeping in a chair and that i would rather be at home were i have pillows ,i guess that did not go down to well with her because when the change over of staff came on i never recieved water for a wash , i asked for some to clean my teeth and ended up doing them in my glass water ,i waited for my bed to be changed and was still in the same sheets 2 days later . i was then transfered to clatterbridge were i can only say the care was excerlent and that they understood how you cant lie flat when you cant breathe properly . i hope i never have to be addmited here again as i have a wonderful nurse once a week at home .
"never again"
