"Are patients concerns not taken seriouly?"

About: Sandwell General Hospital

The overall level of cleanliness and hygiene left a lot to be desired. One shower was out of order from August 2014 to January 2015. The second shower was too cold to use, and the third was a broom cupboard and not really suitable for patients to use safely. The level of cleaning left a lot to be desired, and what was most surprising was all the notices asking patients to be aware of the need for personal hygiene when entering the wards, but the ward my husband was in was very grubby. There were no sick bowls no tissues over the weekend. A very poor level of hygiene - leaves a lot to be desired. I found it necessary to put in a complaint about the care of my husband, and it took two weeks for me to get acknowledgement of my recorded letter, which resulted in verbal confirmation of my compliant, but I have not received written confirmation, nor a copy of their complaints procedure. I also dropped in a letter to PALS but nobody has got back to me, So why have a complaints procedure if it is not implemented in accordance with NHS guidelines??
