I am currently halfway through my second pregnancy and would have liked to have waited until I delivered my baby before posting on this site. However I feel it is necessary to post my comments just now about the maternity unit at Wishaw General.
I feel it is unfair the vicious attack that the daily record has brought upon them in recent months and would like to offer my greatest and sincerest thank you for the care I have received from this unit.
I may only be one person and it might not mean much much but I would like to thank the midwives and csws for the care and attention throughout my pregnancy so far. I am 20 weeks pregnant and have been suffering from a condition called hyperemesis. This condition has caused me to have 12 admissions so far.
Do not get me wrong, I have not had 100% top of the range care and have had some nasty comments thrown my way (mainly by doctors) but I would like to thank the staff for the time and care through these 12 admissions. I have not only been scared for my unborn child but my first born child who is having to watch me suffer with this condition and the effects it has had on him.
The nurses have taken the time to reassure me and spent time comforting me at my lowest and I would not have got this far without them. I have utmost faith in them that when it finally comes time to deliver my baby they will show me nothing but kindness and dedication like they have these past 20 weeks.
I have been in both ward 21, 22 and 23 and all wards have been great. From the sisters of the wards to the secro staff thank you for looking after me, my unborn baby, my son and the rest of my family who you have also comforted and consoled when needed. And please ignore the newspaper stories.
"You have comforted and consoled us"
