"I received excellent treatment after I had an accident on holiday"

About: Lings Bar Hospital Nottingham University Hospitals NHS Trust - Queen's Medical Centre Campus South Western Ambulance Service NHS Foundation Trust / Emergency ambulance Torbay Hospital / Accident and emergency

(as the patient),

I had an accident in February in Torquay and an ambulance was called. It arrived very quickly with two paramedics. They were very nice and they gave me morphine as it as quite a long drive to Torbay hospital.

When I got to hospital they examined and x-rayed me and I had fractured my femur and shoulder. On the ward I had to wait for surgery because I was on Warfrin. A couple of days later I had my hip replaced. I think there was a slight delay because it was around the time there was snow on the ground and a few people were coming in with broken bones.

After this I was transferred to Nottingham QMC in a private ambulance and after that to Lingsbar for rehabilitation. The staff were nice and the food was good. Hospital food is nutritious even if you don’t like it.

After I left the hospital Lings Bar arranged after care where I saw a physio and care workers for six weeks after. I have no complaints.
