I was admitted to the RUH on the 12 of Jan 2015. After 3 nights in MAU. The ward were reassuring and able to help me and my wife relax. I was placed in a side room and the nursing staff and health care assistants were so kind and friendly they took the time to get to know us offer help and care to the best of their abilities. The therapy team were amazing my only negative comment is not to do with either their care or experience but the fact that they are under resourced. The helped me and other patients so much to acheive increased mobility and independence. But they always appeared to be pushed for time struggling to fit in all the patients. I was promised work in gym to help my walking the team in first assessment the team were only able acheive one gym visit during my three week stay due to time pressures. Similarly hydrotherapy was not able to take place as the team were under resourced. On the whole my experience of Helena Ward was positive.
"The ward team are experienced and caring"
