For the Attention of the Chief Executive My Mother Mrs Joyce Newman was admitted into the Resus Dept on Tuesday 10th February 2015 at approx 1830hrs. On arrival, the ER staff were fantastic,The team work was exemplary. Shortly after her arrival the Med Reg came to review Mum. He took us into the relatives room and gave us an in detail review of the situation. My Mum passed away shortly after, in the department. I would like to compliment you on the nursing staff, they were very Proffesional and caring of both Mum and us as a family. My only concern is the agency nurse responsible for Mums care, she was very reluctant to remove the monitors, oxygen masks and BP cuff. We also requested her to be laid down as she was unable to hold her head up. Even though at this time she was clearly dying and a DNAR was in place I work for a busy NHS Trust in Blackpool and spend many hours in A/E in my role as Bed Manager/Transfer Staff Nurse. I know Staff in the NHS receive many complaints and few compliments. Please can you pass on mine and my family's sincere thanks for their attention to my mum and us. They truly applied the 6 C's Many Thanks Again Christine Fallaize RGN
