"Disabled Car Parking"

About: New Cross Hospital

Let me at first say that whilst inside the hospital the staff are superb and the movement around the department was excellent, in fact an altogether good experience. Now for the problem, you must have heard this before, whilst the disabled car park is ideally situated opposite the main entrance (eye infirmary). This is extremely useful as I could walk straight across the race track, sorry road to enter the main doors. On leaving the department to return to my car I found that I had to walk the distance of two car parks to reach the pay machines, obviously, for a slow walker this can add extra time charges. So my two gripes are, the speed limit must be policed as there are some maniac drivers around the site and my other point is the ridiculous situation of being a disabled driver and allowed to park close to the department and then being forced to walk an unacceptable distance to pay the parking charge.

Thank you very much for taking the time to post your comments relating to your recent experience at our hospital. I will share your comments with the Manager who looks after the car parks in the hospital. However, if you can contact the Patient Advice and Liaison Service (PALS) on 01902 695362/695368 they will be able to assist you further. Kindest regards Carol Bott Head of Patient Experience and Public Involvement
