I was admitted by ambulance on a Friday night just before midnight very recently; the first responder and ambulance crew were very efficient from what I can recall and what my wife has told me. At the hospital I was seen and assessed incredibly quickly with efficiency whilst having my dignity left intact. It is the first time I have been called sir in a long time! The Doctor I saw and the nurse that looked after me were outstanding and I thank them very much. I was referred to a TIA (mini stroke) clinic and saw the Consultant a week later - if ever there was a prime example of one of the best, he is it. I was also impressed with the nurse in the clinic who weighed me and took my blood pressure and the usual tests. The Consultant, though he felt I did not have a TIA but perhaps something else to do with another medical condition I have, referred me for immediate tests. Having spoken with my GP since then he has confirmed that the Consultant is indeed excellent and leaves no stone unturned. Thank you to the team at Hereford County Hospital and to the ambulance crew and first responder.
