Initially I was referred to the service in 2011 after being diagnosed with coeliac disease. I went to live abroad June 2013 – June 2014. On return I contacted the service to reinstate my food prescriptions. I was informed that there were no records of my previous referral. No one had properly informed me that my details had been referred. I then had to go back to my GP to be referred. I was unhappy with this situation which led to a delay in the recalling my prescriptions until September 14. The dietician I saw was very nice but unfortunately I felt she was not fully aware of the process of patients obtaining prescriptions. I was not given a list of foods I could order. I had the old information and was not made aware of any changes. As I was working, my mum phoned the department to discuss the issues with another member of staff in order to facilitate obtaining my prescription. Information needs to be made clear of what quantities of each food can be order at lunchtime.
