"I feel we have been blessed"

My mother was diagnosed with myeloma around 2007 and was cared for at the MacDermott Unit. From that point in time her consultant was Dr El Agnaff - though she also saw Dr Barbara Black.

I wanted to use this site to publicly thank Aggie (as he was know in the family) for the exceptionally high standard of care provided by him and his team. He really listened. He understood when to push ahead and when to hang back.

He tried every option he could think of and helped my mother to eight years of reasonably high quality of life as well as to a reasonably quick death over 3 weeks in Ward 4 of the Ulster (where the care was also excellent).

I feel we have been blessed to have such a good NHS service.
