"A young woman should be allowed to have someone with her"

About: Calderdale Royal Hospital / Gynaecology

(as a relative),

I went with my daughter to the Calderdale Royal Hospital.

She was having a gynae scan, she was very nervous and wanted me to go into the room with her - even more so as there was a possibilty it would have to be an internal scan.

When a MALE called her for her scan this made her feel even worse. We both stood to go in and we were told the she could not have anyone with her.

I think this is wrong. A 21 year old female to have a lower abdo area scan, possibly also internal, by a male member of staff with nobody else in the room - how does that work?

It should up to the person being treated whether they want someone with them or not.
