"Most staff lovely"

About: King George Hospital

my dad was on Ash ward, most of the staff were very kind and kept us up to date regarding dads health, however their is always one bad apple sadly, my dad has vascular dementia and is double incontinent, occasionaly he knows he needs to go to the toilet, when this happens he needs to go 'yesterday' and he tries to climb out of his bed to go,he can't stand or walk and is a high risk of falls, I asked a nurse for a bottle for him, and she was extremely rude, condescending, and inconsiderate, and said he will have to wait, Sadly this one person let the whole unit down as instead of talking about all the positives I am focused on the one negative

Thank you sharing your feedback with us on NHS Choices. I am really concerned about your experience. Our staff should be compassionate, kind and professional. I am sorry to hear that it sounds like you were badly let down by one of our nurses. Our staff should never be rude. I want to urgently investigate this for you. Please contact me via our PALS team on 01708 435 454 or email PALS@bhrhospitals.nhs.uk so I can do so. Yours sincerely, Flo Panel-Coates Chief Nurse
