About: Royal Aberdeen Children's Hospital

(as a parent/guardian),

My child has been under the care (or lack of) at this hospital for some time. During which we have encountered so many problems it's unreal.

Not one Doctor we've come into contact with actually listens to the parent. When a child can't communicate, it is the parents responsibility to do this for them. No one knows a child better than the parent... so why not just take note?

The Nurses on the Surgical ward (most of them) are amazing. Medical ward... not so much!

some of the doctors we've come into contact with are a complete joke in my opinion. Nothing has been done properly. Tests have been abandoned half way through then never repeated... My child still has the same problems, only worse after 3 years under their so called care.

Dear parent

NHS Grampian aims to be a caring, listening and improving organisation. I totally agree wtih your sentiment that parents should be listened to and their concerns heeded.

Thank you for recognising the good work of our nursing staff. It is disappointing that you have had a poor experience of medical care. I understand how dfficult it is to raise concerns when your child has ongoing health needs, but if you would like to contact me to share more details of your story and your child's experience I would do my best to help you and to see how your experience could be used to improve things for future families who come into our care.

I am completely independent of the management team and would treat any communication directly with me in confidence.
