"Left waiting for 7 1/2 hours in A&E"

About: Warrington Hospital

I was sent to Warrington A&E department as a medical emergency by my GP after visiting due to a pain that had developed. I was met with the response "you are waiting to see a specialist team, it will take as long as it takes unfortunately. This was after waiting 4 hours. I then asked again after around 5 1/2 - 6 hours. Both times when I asked I was not asked my name and they did not check the computer to see if everything was still ok. I was then booked in as an out patient for a scan which I had a few weeks later at Halton Hospital to which I am still awaiting the results for...

I am so sorry that you did not have a good experience of all parts of our A&E service, and have passed your comments on to the department so they can look in to this. If you would like to talk in more detail, this would be helpful to us - please let us know your contact details by emailing patient.experienceteam@whh.nhs.uk and we can be in touch.

Thank you
