My son has recently had surgery for an unusual cyst in his cheek. From the very start of our journey I have nothing but praise for the skill, communication and care we have received. Having been diagnosed and in need of surgery I researched Maxillofacial Departments and Surgeons in numerous hospitals. The information and choice is immense including London Hospitals where my son attends University. We had an initial consultation elsewhere and were so impressed with the care and information we received I decided on Lancaster Royal Infirmary, our local hospital, for the operation needed. On the day of the op we arrived and in no time saw both the anesthetist and the surgeon. We were totally put at ease as everything was explained thoroughly and with much warmth which put my 19 year old son at ease as he hadn't had any procedure in hospital before. All went well and after a short convalescence my son returned to London to Uni. The aftercare, stitches removed etc has been managed around my son coming back from London as to limit the lost time at Uni. I have conversed with the Departments Secretary's who were amazing in sorting all the appointments to fit in with us. In this current moaning about the Health Service climate I was so impressed from start to finish with the Maxillofacial care we received, I want to say thank you. I feel it isn't said enough to these wonderful people. 5 stars and highly recommended.
