"Request for a female doctor not met at Birdhurst Medical Practice"

I am a new patient here; the facilities are very nice but the Reception staff are missing their heads a bit I think... I phoned up and requested an appointment with a female doctor. I arrived for the appointment and was called in by a male doctor. It was fine; he was very professional and kind, but this would have been unnerving for others who have a real preference for a female doctor.

Now I just make sure I am extra clear about everything and clarify/confirm everything with them!
