I have been visiting the Hull Royal site regularly over the past few months, mostly to the Women's and Children's hospital but also to the main tower block.
Every time I have attended my appointments I see staff (uniformed), and people I gather are patients and visitors, smoking outside the front doors of the above buildings as well as other places across the site despite the numerous signage stating it is a no smoking trust.
I'm a pregnant woman and I also suffer with my breathing to which I need an inhaler, I am not a smoker myself and I hate having to walk through a cloud of smoke to get to the services I require. It is highly unfair to me, my unborn child and other patients/staff/visitors who are being made to passive smoke because of the ignorance of a few.
I understand people have the right to make their own life choices, but that should not take the choice out of the hands of others.
I have also emailed PALS regarding this issue.
