Hi Buxton122, thank you so much for posting your very honest response. I'm really glad that our outreach team made you feel comfortable when discussing the safe use of condoms, we know how difficult it can be and I am so glad you felt the service was non-judgmental.

You are not alone when it comes to not always understanding what the info on the back of a condom is and how important it is in terms of your safety. If it is a good quality, genuine condom then it will have either the European CE mark, or the BSI Kitemark stamped on the packet– this means that they have had thorough quality checks. You will also find an expiry date on there and again it is really important that you do not use condoms that are past their expiry date.

I am sure our team will have explained how to correctly put on a condom and what to do in emergencies but if you need any further help or advice about safer sex then please feel free to get in touch on 01484 481030 or look at the Locala Contraception and Sexual Health webpage for the location and opening times of clinics near you.

Thanks again for your comments

Many thanks
