"Invisible Unless A Complainer"

After six weeks I'm overjoyed to be leaving this wretched place. I can speak highly of the health support workers, domestics and volunteers, but the qualified nursing staff are considerably sub-standard. Due to my well known mental health constraints, I avoid people and shy away from conversation. My named nurse has yet to approach me, even just to introduce herself and apart from a male staff nurse who did attempt to talk to me two night's ago, I have had not had one conversation with a qualified nurse in the one and a half months since being admitted before Christmas. Whilst admittedly I prefer not to be approached, I don't know how any decisions or assessments on me can be based on a 'if he won't come to us, we won't go to him' attitude. Last night I wasn't given my medication and I didn't feel I could make the error known. I plucked up the courage to mention it this morning but no apology or explanation was given. I was also asked to sign a careplan report handed to me by a student nurse, and when I asked to read it first I discovered it was full of fundamental errors about the circumstances of my admittance, my symptoms and my home life -it almost read like a generic template with my name inserted at the top. It's so obvious that the qualified staff are uncomfortable outside the clerical environment of the nurses office, and unless you are a persistent complainer you are invisible to the staff.
