"New college chlasp"

About: Kirklees Sexual Health Outreach / Huddersfield New College open door service

(as the patient),

Today I was able to get a c-card and some condoms, it was a little embarrassing when they showed me how to put a condom on the demonstrator, but they explained why they had to show me, but still embarrassing all the same.

Think it was great they were in the canteen signing people up.

Hi CTYum and thanks for posting some feedback about your experience at college with our Outreach Team. Using condoms correctly is so important and we recognise how uncomfortable people feel talking about this but getting over that embarrassment and feeling confident to put condoms on correctly makes such a big difference to your sexual health.

Lots of people don't realise that it is vital to squeeze the tip of the condom firmly to expel air from the little teat at the top as they roll the condom on. If you don't do this and the condom just sits tightly over the tip of the penis with no space for the ejaculate, then condoms can burst/split which is definitely not what you want to happen.

We know it takes a little time to go through the demo but we really think it's worth it, so thank you for taking time out to get involved.

If you need any more info or advice about using condoms safely or where you can access free condoms, then please get in touch on 01484 481030

Many thanks and be safe from all of us at Chlasp Sexual Health Outreach Team
