I attended A&E on a Friday night in January as I suspected that I had a DVT. I was seen by the triage nurse within half an hour, and then by a doctor within the next hour. All the staff members I met were friendly and attentive, completing the tests quickly and ensuring that I knew what would be happening next. I had an ultrasound and a chest X-ray the following Monday and it transpired that I did indeed have a DVT at which point I was referred to the anticoagulant clinic. The team made sure that the treatment was clearly explained to me, and that I had an opportunity to ask questions. I returned to the hospital on a daily basis for blood tests during the following week and was impressed with the efficiency and friendliness of the service. Following the blood test in the morning I had an early afternoon call from the anticoagulant clinic to let me know what dosage of medicine to take in the evening. I've been impressed throughout by the dedication and approachability of staff at the hospital and have no issues with the care that I'm receiving.
"Great care from dedicated staff"
