"NHS at its best"

About: Princess Royal Hospital (Haywards Heath) South Central Ambulance Service NHS Foundation Trust

(as a relative),

My wife became ill last night at a restuarant in Lindfield. The ambulance service were called. A splendid paramedic called David and his collegue were very reassuring and thorough in the way they checked her blood pressure, pulse and respiratory system etc. Although my wife was recovering by this time from the almost comatose condition she had previously lapsed into they advised she should be taken to the Princess Royal for a more thorough examination.

At the Princess Royal a very helpful male nurse carried out an ECG and put my wife on a drip and a blood sample was taken in the Resusitation Area. Later she was comprehensively examined by a doctor who was thorough, professional, confident and sympathetic. Finding nothing wrong and knowing we were staying locally for the night we were, at around midnight, allowed to leave but told by the doctor not to hesitate in coming back if any negative changed occurred. Happily it did not.

One hears adverse comments about our Health Service from time to time. We just wish to say how grateful we were for the response we received last night when we needed help and would like the individuals concerned to be made aware.
