"They all put me at ease"

About: New Stobhill Hospital / Urology

(as the patient),

I went in for day surgery because I was having a cytoscopy under general anaesthetic. From checking in at the reception desk, to actually having my procedure done, every member of staff was lovely! The nurses on the ward were so cheery and chatty. My consultant, Mr James, was very informative and my anaesthetic doctor was also lovely! They all put me at ease. I genuinely couldn't have had a better experience! Thank you so much to all of you!

Patient Experience, Public Involvement Project Manager,
NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde

I work in a small team in NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde which seeks to involve patients and carers in the work of the NHS. The biggest part of my role is in managing feedback projects across the Board area, one of which is Patient Opinion. It is my job to give our patients and carers the opportunity to give us feedback, and to make sure that this is passed to the right people to help us improve the services we provide.

Dear Kelly,

Thank you very much for your kind comments about your recent experience in Day Surgery. You highlight how important staff attitude is in making patients feel relaxed, comfortable and safe, which absolutely improves the overall experience they have while in hospital.

I am pleased to pass this onto the Manager of the Day Surgery Unit who will in turn ensure all of the members of staff on the Unit hear your positive feedback.

Thank you again,

Lorna
