"Excellent care"

I went in on 22nd dec and was particularly anxious about my laparoscopy and hysteroscopy never mind it being so close to christmas. When I was admitted as an outpatients patient onto the ward I spoke with one nurse who was really helpful with the information she gave me and was also asking me to clarify my name and date of birth several times (which is to prevent mistakes being made) she was lovely and approachable. I was then visited by both the consultant & registrar who checked with me my understanding of what I had come in for and what they were going to do, this really put me at ease! I also witnessed their respectful manner being exhibited with other patients. Following my procedure I was visited again by both consultant & registrar and although recovering from anesthetic and not able to take in information very well I was reassured by this second visit and the fact they came to see me. I have just had my follow up appointment and I was seen by the same registrar, lovely lady who did not rush my appointment and explained fully the findings of my lap. Cannot find any fault in my care from the start and highly recommend particularly this Consultant and her team. NHS staff are hardworking and dedicated and although i have in other circumstances not had great experiences we should celebrate loudly when it goes right.
