I want to give positive feedback on my recent stay in A&E and ward F3, having had exceptional care throughout from reception at A&E to final ‘signing off’ from the ward. I went to A&E on Wednesday 14th January on the advice of my consultant as a cancer/chemotherapy patient with a possible infection. I was checked thoroughly by numerous consultants and doctors all of whom were friendly and informative, answered all my questions and treated me as an intelligent person with the ability to understand the issues and problems involved. I have so often been treated as simple minded, almost an object, with medical staff unwilling to answer questions particularly if they might involve saying ‘I don’t know the answer to that’. This has happened in various medical establishments in the past, including Frimley Park Hospital. To receive such different treatment a couple of weeks ago was a most reassuring experience and one that makes me very glad that this is my local hospital. All the staff I met and watched at their work went out of their way to help people. I could cite many instances e.g. the orderly organising available beds late at night who made up a make-shift pillow for me in A&E, the cleaner who stopped to help an elderly lady having difficulties with her walking frame and the recently qualified staff nurse in the ward who was so helpful and caring with my tests and papers. I congratulate you on a well-run establishment with hard-working and caring staff who maintain a cheerful approach even when clearly very busy. Long may it continue like this!
"Exceptional treatment"
