"Frustrated at Lincoln A&E"

About: Lincoln County Hospital / Accident and emergency

(as the patient),

The first time I visited a&e at the end of January the staff were perfect, fast service, very polite. Advised me if it continued to bleed and started to smell go back.

I went back two days later, explained to the woman on the counter I wasn't sure if it was still bleeding and wanted someone to look at it. After 10mins I got called through by a staff member who very patronisingly said "what are you coming up here for at this time of night?"

I explained that I thought it was still bleeding. She then said "you should have gone to your GP for that, its going to be a while for you" (remember it's Sunday, GP is closed). I then saw her leaning against the wall talking to a colleague for no less than 10mins she could have checked my wound and changed the bandage five times over.

At this point I decided to leave due to frustration and resorted to sorting it myself, with products from a petrol station.

I am sorry that you were frustrated during your recent return visit to A&E. Unfortunately we have a department policy that patients returning need to be reviewed by the doctor on duty, hence the wait to be seen. I am sorry if this was not fully explained to you, thank you for taking the time to share your concerns
