I went for an EMG test for my nerve & muscle damage on my hand in march 2014 with Dr Forster. He was kind, understanding and explained the test in full detail. About 2 months after the test I received a phone call from the consultant surgeon who advised me I would need surgery as I have condition called " ulnar nerve trapment syndrome" in January this year I was told that an appointment was available for surgery early Feb and that a letter would be sent out to confirm the date & time of surgery. This morning I phoned the consultant surgeon's secretary (whom I now feel I know after numerous telephone conversations and she has been polite, helpful and understanding) and I was told that I wasn't on the surgery list, due to the fact that my surgery had been cancelled due to staff shortages in theatre! No alternate date was given to me or indeed notification of the cancellation. Now approaching 1 year on from diagnosis and still waiting for treatment on my deteriating hand! I can't lift or carry anything. I am not able to work and don't receive ANY benefits! ! I need surgery ASAP
