"not listening"

About: Royal Preston Hospital

I was referred to neurologist by my gp.I found the appointment a waste of time and have had to ask my gp to get me another appointment where I might get the chance to discuss the symptoms I am suffering.. The consultant constantly said mmm mmm mmm while I was explaining and didn't look a me,then I left with a diagnosis of something that I told him I already suffer sometimes (migraine) and the other frightening symptoms were ignored. Hopefully at the next appointment (when I finally get it)I will feel I am listened to with a degree of compassion or even interest.I am losing weeks off work not to mention my life being on hold as I can't function normally as I need to.. Not a bit helpful, massive let down, and I think the appointment is going to be with the same consultant which doesn't fill me with my much faith or optimism. I have had to go to A&E twice since that last appointment cos I feel so ill,and that's just feeling like a nuisance as it's not the department that can help and they are busy.

Thank you for taking the time to provide your feedback. We are sorry to hear of your experience when you attended the neurology clinic. Can we ask you to please contact our PALS department, who will be happy to discuss your concerns and needs and liaise with the department on your behalf.
