"My husband has had a gastroscopy and biopsy on..."

About: Chesterfield Royal Hospital

My husband has had a gastroscopy and biopsy on 25th July and saw the surgeon on the 31st July who confirmed that he had cancer. From then he had CT scan on 4th August and 8th August E.C.G. and lung function tests. The consultant and his team liased with Northern General and from then on we were dealt with at Sheffield. The staff during this time were very helpful, kind, respectful and understanding. We were given the name and telephone number of the Specialist nurses and told we could ring them if we had any questions or queries about the treatment this was very reassuring and helpful. They also rang us when they had results of investigations. It was an excellent service.

Thank you for taking the time to post a comment. I was really pleased to read about how well your husband has been cared for during this worrying time - and that you were also supported, which is equally important. I will share your comments with our teams and I hope your husband is progressing well. Kind regards Sarah Turner-Saint, Head of Communications
